Ansel Moore is a senior Fine Arts student at Georgia College. He works with printmaking processes, specifically linoleum block carvings. He uses a black and white color scheme to create clean, graphic pieces. His most recent works are a series of large-scale carvings of birds that each represent virtues of the human spirit. He hopes to continue exploring this theme of birds’ symbolic values in the future.
His capstone work consists of three linoleum block carvings of the following birds: The Great Horned Owl, The Kingfisher, and The Great Blue Heron. These birds each represent core values that Ansel would like to uphold throughout his life. The inspiration behind this project came from quality time spent bird watching with his grandmother after the loss of his grandfather in 2016.
